Michelada
Michelada is an intriguing cocktail made with light Mexican beer. (I used Corona.)
There were so many different recipes out there, from just basic beer with a splash of chilli and lime and no tomato juice to this full-on cross between a bloody Mary and a spicy burrito!
This version really hits the spots!
Ingredients
makes 2
660ml Mexican light beer, ice cold
120ml tomato juice
60ml lime juice
30ml Tabasco sauce
15ml vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Tajin (cayene pepper/salt mix)
Method
You can make your own tajin by simply mixing cayenne pepper and salt (1:2 ratio)
Prepare your glass by salting the rim with the tajin, (by running a juiced lime along the edge and then dipping into the cayenne pepper/salt mix.)
In a jug mix the tomato juice, lime juice, Tabasco sauce and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce together with a teaspoon of the tajin (cayenne pepper/salt mix)
Pour the spiced tomato juice into the prepared glass, over ice if you prefer.
Then pour over the beer.
