Fiery Ginger Smoothie

Julie and I had this smoothie for breakfast in a small cafe in Soho, London and were blown away by it! I guess the trick is to get the balance just right. You need to feel the warmth but if there's too much ginger it becomes unpalatable, then again if there's not enough then what's the point! 

A few years later we had something similar in Mexico. They called it an "Anti-flu" smoothie which was apt as we were on the cusp of a pandemic.

Ingredients
serves 2
4 carrots
6 oranges
30g fresh root ginger, peeled
10g fresh root turmeric ( or 1 tsp ground)

Method
Squeeze the oranges to juice them.

Pass the carrots,ginger and root turmeric through a good juicer.
(If you're using ground turmeric then add after juicing)

Mix all the juices together well to combine.

Boom ... feel the goodness!
